International conference EURASLIC XVIII – 18th Biennial Conference of the European Association of Aquatic Science Libraries and Information Centres: River of no Return: Sail or Sink will be held on May 6-9, 2019 in Zagreb, Croatia. It is organized by the Centre for Scientific Information of the Ruđer Bošković Institute, Zagreb.

The title of the Conference signifies changing role of libraries in information age and their ability to sail with the flow in order to maintain their presence in today's digital environment. Therefore the conference themes cover wide range of topics related to new trends in library and information sciences like new and innovative library services, research data, open access to scientific information, copyright, GDPR etc.

EURASLIC (European Association of Aquatic Sciences Libraries and Information Centres) is an independent, non-profit European interest group and a regional group of IAMSLIC (International Association of Aquatic and Marine Science Libraries and Information Centres). EURASLIC was founded in 1988, and for more than 30 years the organization connects librarians and information specialist from European aquatic science institutions by providing forum for sharing ideas and discussing issues of common interest, improving dissemination of aquatic information, supporting joint projects, encouraging cooperation within Europe and building links with other national, regional and international aquatic science libraries and information networks.

Since its foundation the conferences are held every two years and so far they had been organized in 17 European cities. The conference brings together librarians and information specialists from aquatic libraries at research centres, universities, government agencies and the private sector in Europe and from countries in bordering regions, as well as representatives of international organizations. The conference provides a valuable opportunity for the exchange of ideas and expertise, and experiences in the dissemination of the relevant information in that field.

The expected number of participants is between 40 and 50 librarians and information specialists from European aquatic and marine research organizations. Sponsoring the conference is an excellent way to reach this audience and promote your products!
